Everywhere

In layman terms, according to quantum mechanics, ever electron/proton/neutron in your body is delocalised all over the universe. So essentialy, I'm everywhere.. In Paris, Venice, Spain, North Pole, the Sun, the andromeda galaxy.. everywhere.. Omnipresent.

So, if I every miss another wedding/birthday party/baptism/engagement/etc.. Just remember, I was there! Or a part of me, at any rate..

you got it half correct.If you are everywhere,then from the same character of reality,you are nowhere.

excuse me??
we non-physicists (in other words, normal people) don't agree.
you'd better get ur behind to my engagement.. pretty fast!

mr.anonymous.. i'm not talking reality.. i'm talking pure hardcore, wave-particle duality, uncertainity principle, quantum mechanics.. not philosophy.. sorry..

Why does it have to be Mr. Anonymous? Really, Chitra, grow up.
And is Girl of Destiny Sug? Can't invite us, huh?

lol.. girl of destiny is my sister, mathi..

anybody heard of feynman path integrals? :P

unfortunate..but true...after all the years of learning physics you seem to have forgotten that physics is all about describing reality...(read Prof .V Balakrishnan,IIT Madras, preface to Feynman Lecture series)and by the way i can give you the "hard core " mathematical theory of measurement..to prove my point..titles of subjects are never "hard core"...

Anonymous, why do you want to b anonymous? And yeah, physics is about describing reality.. Where have i denied that? I just have pointed out that the reality is that I am everywhere.. And are anonymous 1 and 2 the the same person?

Anonymous-2 is a struggling physics student grappling with the concept of double integrals :D Btw pretty poignant post on losing a friend, too lazy to get there and post a comment.

look.. i am telling you the same thing...if you are everywhere then can you tell where are you?...i mean the everywhere in wavefunction only indicates your probability of being at all places..DO NOT MISTAKE IT FOR SPREAD IN YOUR PRESENCE..you are nowhere until you are measured..get your basics right...

to anonymous 2:

look mister feynman path integrals..do not say that path exists..(if you think so)--anonymous 1

Dear mr.anonymous1,
I did not say i was everwhere with equal probability.. i said something to the effect of, "my wavefunction has no zero probability at any point in space". I know i'm being pushed into a state the minute i'm measured. But can you assure me that when girl of destiny is having her engagement and i'm sitting in my room and (ironically) working out feynman's diagrams, every electron in my system is being observed and thus being pushed into a state? It's not about getting my basics right. It's about you understanding my statement.

Of course, cause the blog is meant for people who can take a joke.. Please take it in the spirit in which it was meant. If you do want an indepth argument on the physics behind it, reveal yourself, else i'm afraid, i'll have to stop this discussion n the fear of scaring my other readers away.

Oh, and stop picking on anonymous 2, who, though slightly irritating, is a bright enough chap and does know what he's talking about - well, most of the time..

@chicken little: Do you still want to know why i said mr.anonymous?

anonymous3 :...your blogs are fun to read...good job keep blogging.....let the anonymous 1 go to hell with his comments...

@Anonymous3 - thanks.. ;-)

@anonymous1 - i'm sorry i had to remove your last comment, cause I'm afraid I don't allow people to degrade women or call my friends names in my blog. Even if it by people who claim they know physics!

@everyone else: If you've been following this thread, you'll probably know why as of now, i'm removing the option of posting anonymous comments. Sorry for the inconvience.. But honestly, i'd appreciate it better if you reveal yourself before picking an argument..

Oh but it was so much fun :( Censorship and the big bro atti.I must protest.

(just when i could have made a quick buck offering mr.anonymous lessons in common-sense and etiquette :( )

@sido: That's all the thanks i get??? :-P
