Hold that thought!

A friend of mine (who begged to remain anonymous) said to me "when I was in school I decided to take up science - because by doing science you actually contribute to the total amount of human knowledge. With humanities, you don't - maybe to the beauty of the world or whatever, but not to knowledge, and with management, you contribute absolutely nothing!"

So, all you geeks out there surviving on phdcomics, now you know..

I object to your scathing critique of management. Good management leads to efficient allocation of resources, which in turn improves the state of the economy , and this trickles down to the poor and they get to eat some food. Because "naalu perukku nalladhu-na edhuvume thappilla".

@ Pseudo: Hee hee.. I know. Me too! And thank you! And welcome back to you too! :-D

@ Bharat: I have nothing against management. I - rather my friend merely stated that a manager adds nothing to the total sum of human knowledge!

Strange thing to say. Personally, I think managers are like the grease between the wheels.

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure.

@ Roshan: Hold thy toungue peasant, or I shall reveal all!

@ Satyaki: I remember someone once stared at a partial differential equation for a long time and then called me up to tell me how beautiful it is. Maybe Beethovan's symphony is not meant to be represented in terms of wave pressure, but it's nice to know it can be!

Does learning about different ideologies about life contribute to human knowledge?
Because I think that's what I am doing :P

Vasu: Good question. Does learning about what humans know contribute to human knowledge? Maybe a longer post later?

Big Joke!...i didnot know science could be done to add to human knowledge! what a noble thought!! (HAHAHA!)...

Hehe.. funny insight from your friend. Nice to know what people think of MBAs.

Solvent: Dude!

Nikita: Ooops! But hey, as bharat said, management is essential. We pseudo-scientists would be able to do absolutely nothing without you guys!
